Truist Park is not your average ballpark experience — it's a mall, a neighborhood, and a baseball game all layered together in the Cumberland corridor of Cobb County, about ten miles northwest of downtown Atlanta. The Braves didn't just build a $672 million stadium; they built an entire entertainment district called The Battery Atlanta around it , which means as an away fan, you'll never want for a pre-game drink or post-game debrief spot. The vibe is suburban and polished — this is Cobb County money — but the baseball is legitimate, the sightlines are excellent, and as a visitor you can blend into the crowd just fine if you keep the away gear tasteful.

What a Trip Here Costs, in Numbers

MLB tickets on Vivid Seats are listed for both upcoming games, starting at $116 (Los Angeles Dodgers, Oct 7); the priciest game to get into starts at $130 (Los Angeles Dodgers, Oct 6).

A 3-star or better hotel within 15 miles of the stadium runs from $115 a night, based on 195 hotels.

The airport for this trip is Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International (ATL), 18 miles from the stadium.

The next 12 months bring one visiting team: Los Angeles Dodgers, 1,930 miles away.

Ticket prices checked Oct 3; hotel rates checked Oct 2.

Ticket figures are each game's lowest listed price with estimated fees added. The hotel figure is the 25th-percentile nightly rate of the hotels sampled. Distances are straight-line, stadium to airport and stadium to stadium.

How to Get to Truist Park (CobbLinc Bus, Driving, Rideshare)

Let's be honest: if there's one thing Atlanta is lacking, it's viable public transportation, and that's especially true if you're trying to get from the airport or downtown to Truist Park. Cars — whether your own, a rental, or rideshare — are the primary mode of transportation because everything is spread out. You'll cover 23 miles just from the airport to Truist Park, and downtown is about 11 miles away.

Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL), the world's busiest airport, is located approximately 30 minutes from the Braves' stadium — in non-game traffic. Add another 15–20 minutes on game nights if you're coming up I-75.

There is no direct rail to Truist Park. Cobb County, somewhat infamously, does not have any MARTA connection. There's no way to take rail to the ballpark, or even get within walking distance. That said, you can piece together a transit route: board MARTA Bus 12 at Midtown MARTA Station, which travels to Cumberland Mall. Once you arrive at the Cumberland Mall Transfer Center, take the Cumberland Circular Shuttle (Blue route) to reach The Battery Atlanta and Truist Park. CobbLinc's Cumberland Circulator is a fare-free transit system, and Circulator Blue is a continuous loop between the Cumberland Transfer Center, Cumberland Mall, Akers Mill Square, Cobb Galleria, and Truist Park.

For rideshare, rideshare vehicles are restricted to dropping off and picking up along Windy Ridge Road west of Heritage Court, about a half-mile walk from the ballpark's right-field gate. That half-mile walk through The Battery is actually pleasant pregame — less so after a 4-hour game on a July night.

Truist Park Parking: Lots, Prices, and Best Options

The Braves announced that the new park would have more than 11,000 parking spaces owned or leased by the organization for game day, and there are approximately 30,000 parking spaces within 2 miles of the stadium. Translation: parking is generally not a crisis here, but you still want to pre-purchase.

As of the 2024 season, parking rates start at $25 for single-game visitors at Braves-operated lots near Truist Park. However, there is a distant lot — Lot E47 — that is typically cheaper because it's so far away. Truist Park parking lots are managed by LAZ Parking, and passes can be purchased online, over the phone, or at the ticket windows. Pre-purchase is strongly recommended — the closest lots (Orange, Delta, Red Deck) fill up fast for weekend games and any rivalry series.

The Battery Atlanta decks (Red, Green, and Purple) offer two free hours of parking before heading into Truist Park , which is a solid option if you're planning to pregame in The Battery anyway. For ADA parking, accessible parking is available in lot N29 and the Red Deck, with N29 served by a shuttle that picks up and drops off at Battery Avenue outside the Third Base Gate.

Where to Stay Near Truist Park

The two best options for walking-distance convenience are both inside The Battery itself. The Battery boasts two hotels: the Omni Hotel and the Aloft Hotel. The Omni is the splurge option — think 300+ dollars a night on game weekends, but you'll walk to the gate in 5 minutes. The Aloft is a notch down in price and still extremely well-located. Both fill up fast for big series, so book early.

If the Omni or Aloft aren't available, a Renaissance Hotel is located just across I-285. Beyond that, the Galleria/Cumberland area has a dense cluster of business-class hotels — Marriotts, Hiltons, Hyatts — all within a 5–10 minute drive or a short Circulator bus ride. Homewood Suites Galleria/Cumberland charges $10 per person each way for a shuttle; Holiday Inn Express Galleria/Ballpark offers a free shuttle; and Hyatt House Cobb Galleria charges $5 per person each way starting 2 hours before the game. If you want local neighborhood character, downtown Marietta is about 15 minutes north — walkable square, good restaurants, and notably cheaper hotel rates.

Best Bars and Restaurants Near Truist Park

The Battery is legitimately good. Don't let the "stadium district" label fool you into expecting airport food court quality.

Terrapin Taproom is the on-site brewpub, open to the park on game days. Atlanta favorite Terrapin Taproom makes a variety of great beers in-house, and their "brew lab" offers new and seasonal flavors, designed to pair well with Fox Bros BBQ. Arrive early — it gets loud and packed.

The Punch Bowl Social in The Battery is a great away-fan hangout: multi-level, games throughout, full bar, and the kind of ambient noise where your group can yell about whatever just happened on the field without bothering anyone.

Yard House is also in The Battery if you need a long tap list and a menu that can feed a group with mixed dietary preferences — big, reliable, and far less chaotic than the pregame scrum at Terrapin.

For something cheaper right nearby, Harry's Pizza and Subs is less than a mile from Truist Park with deals like $5 beers, 2 large NY slices and a drink for $8, and is family-owned for over 30 years. It's the smart move if you want to save your wallet for inside the park.

Truist Park Bag Policy, Gates, and Game Day Tips

This is one of the strictest bag policies in professional sports, so read it carefully before you pack. Bags are NOT ALLOWED to enter Truist Park. Exceptions are made for medical bags and small, single-compartment clutches or clear bags no larger than 5" × 9". The standard 12" × 6" × 12" clear bags often permitted at other stadiums are not allowed at Truist Park. No backpacks. There is no on-site bag check available — though a mobile locker bag storage (first come, first served) is available for guests who arrive with oversized bags, located at the Smart locker location between Orange and Truist Tower Parking decks, opening two hours prior to first pitch through one hour after last out. Cost per bag begins at $12 for baseball games.

Gates open two hours before first pitch. On Thursday games, gates will open 90 minutes before first pitch. Outside food is permitted as long as items are individually portioned and placed inside clear plastic bags. Each guest can bring in one plastic, factory-sealed bottle of water. Most fans enter through the outfield entrances from The Battery — the Chop House Gate being the main flow point — but the 1st Base and 3rd Base gates are less congested if you're arriving right at gate open.

Truist Park Accessibility: ADA Seating, Elevators, and Accessible Entry

With the help of an ADA consultant, Truist Park was designed to be universally accessible and comfortable for all guests. Services include accessible parking, elevators and escalators, courtesy rides, accessible seating, accessible restrooms, lowered concession counters, drinking fountains, and an accessible seating concierge service. There are seven elevators available to guests, all accessible to guests with disabilities, located at the 1st Base Gate, 3rd Base Gate, Left Field Gate, Terrapin Taproom, and Hope and Will's Sandlot (by the Home Depot Clubhouse). Accessible seating is spread throughout the park across sections on every level, including Sections 1, 4, 9, 12, 107, 111, 113, 118, 122, 130, 133, 138, 141, 144, 145, 146, 156, 213, 215, 218, 220, 231, 233, 238, 243, and others.

Most accessible seating areas are equipped with electrical outlets for charging mobility devices, and complimentary wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis for guests who require assistance from the gate to their seats. Guests with medical conditions requiring prohibited items must enter through designated Accessible Entrances at the Chophouse, Right Field, or Third Base Gates. For assistance, contact the accessible seating department at (404)-577-9100 (Option 5).

Truist Park Seating Guide: Best Seats for Away Fans

There is no dedicated away section at Truist Park — MLB doesn't do designated visiting supporter sections the way soccer does — but that actually works in your favor. Vista Level seats (Sections 312–347) are a great deal, with excellent energy, cheaper prices, and solid sightlines. This is where away fans tend to cluster organically, and the crowd is relaxed enough that you can cheer your team without incident. The Terrace Level (210–248) isn't really worth the price premium over Vista — the views are basically the same at a higher cost.

For something more premium, sections 156–160 in the Coors Light Chop House are a fan favorite, with access to excellent concessions and great views across three seating levels. These seats are expensive but spectacular — and the Chop House atmosphere is genuinely unique to this ballpark. The first-base side tends to get shade earlier during late-day and evening games , which matters enormously for a July weeknight in Atlanta. For any day game between May and September, prioritize shade over anything else.

Food and Drink at Truist Park

Truist Park has become a 100% cashless venue — bring your cards for food, apparel, and everything else. There are four locations in the stadium to convert cash to a prepaid card if needed.

The signature items worth hunting down: the Perimeter Dog is a footlong, half-pound hot dog loaded with sweet bacon jam, spicy sport peppers, Vidalia onions, and lemon-pepper Dijonnaise, available at the 1871 Grille near section 141. It sounds like a mess and it absolutely is. The Grand Slam Nacho at the Taco Factory is two feet of wound tortilla chips covered in creamy jalapeño queso — share it or regret it alone. The peach cobbler egg rolls (crispy egg rolls filled with warm cinnamon-spiced peach cobbler and caramel sauce) are a genuinely good Georgia-specific dessert item available near section 138. Best in-stadium food options include Atlanta originals with multiple Chick-fil-A locations.

Fans also have access to the Outfield Market, a new eight-stall food hall just inside the Chop House Gate, featuring vendors like NFA Burger, Velvet Taco, Taqueria Tsunami, and Fred's Meat & Bread, all opening for the 2025 season. Budget roughly $14–$18 for a standard meal item, $10–$14 for a craft beer, and $5–$7 for a soft drink. Ballpark Classics is known as one of the most reasonably priced concession stands in all of Major League Baseball — if the wallet is hurting, that's your spot.

Truist Park for Away Fans

The Braves fanbase is genuinely passionate but not hostile — this isn't a place where you'll get beer thrown on you for wearing the wrong jersey. Cobb County suburban-fan energy tends toward enthusiastic rather than menacing, and the Chop hand will be omnipresent but good-natured. What you should know, though: Truist Park is surrounded by restaurants, shops, and entertainment, and fans typically arrive early to explore The Battery, where the pregame atmosphere is lively and continues well after the game ends. That means the crowd is in a good mood before the first pitch, which is usually to your benefit as an away fan. One honest observation: the canopy roof creates genuine home-field advantage in terms of crowd noise — the 90-foot roof is three times the size of the roof at Turner Field, and air conditioning on every level keeps the majority of fans cool on hot summer days , which keeps those fans in their seats and loud. Don't be fooled by the suburban surroundings — when the Braves are in a pennant race, this place genuinely rocks.

Getting Out of Truist Park After the Game

By transit: The Circulator Blue continues running late. The Circulator runs Monday through Saturday from noon to midnight. After a 7:20 first pitch with a 3-hour game, you're looking at finishing around 10:30 p.m. — buses are still running but frequency drops to 30-minute intervals on weekdays. Head to the Heritage Court stop and expect a 10–20 minute wait. Your best move is to leave in the 8th inning if your team isn't in it; by the final out, the stop gets crowded fast.

By car: Truist Park sits at the intersection of Interstates 75 and 285 , which sounds convenient until 41,000 people are all funneling onto the same two highways. Lots near the First Base and Third Base gates tend to clear faster than those behind the outfield. Realistically, plan for 20–40 minutes before you're moving freely on I-75 or I-285. If you're headed downtown, I-75 South is your route; for the airport, stay on I-285 East to I-85 South. Don't fight it — sit in the lot for 15 minutes with a post-game podcast.

By rideshare: Rideshare vehicles are restricted to picking up along Windy Ridge Road west of Heritage Court, about a half-mile walk from the right-field gate, and the process of getting a rideshare after games can be chaotic at best. Surge pricing after a big game will run 1.5–2.5x. The pro move: walk a half-mile further down Windy Ridge or toward Cumberland Mall before requesting your ride — you'll pay less and wait less. Give it 20–30 minutes after the final out before requesting if you can kill time at a Battery bar; the first wave of surge typically subsides.

The opinionated tip: Stay for the full game, buy one last drink, then walk The Battery loop once. By the time you've done that — maybe 25 minutes — the worst of the exit crush is over for transit and rideshare both.
